Tsujihan

Tsujihan is a must-visit for seafood lovers, offering an unforgettable take on kaisendon (seafood rice bowls). The star of the show is their signature Zeitaku-don, an indulgent layering of impeccably fresh sashimi, rich marinated seafood, and a luscious egg yolk that melds everything together.

We were so happy to find a branch in Taipei, in the Breeze Xinyi Branch.

Food

The sea bream sashimi, coated in a sesame-flavored sauce, can be enjoyed on its own or saved to enhance your bowl later.
We got a simple prawn chawanmushi. This was smooth and blander than expected.
We also got a sea urchin chawanmushi. This one had more flavour thanks to the crab, urchin and salmon roe.
This was the yan bowl with fatty tuna, sea urchin and salmon roe.
This was the matsu course. It had salmon roe, tuna, shrimp, whelk, geoduck clam, squid, herring eggs, cucumber, and green onion, while the matsu bowl is elevated with extra crab, salmon roe, and a rich addition of uni (sea urchin) 🤤.

When we finished, they poured in a very delicious sea bream broth. It had a good depth of flavour and was very comforting.

Service

The service was very good, like all service in Asia. When we finished our meal, Mick was waiting for me outside the toilet just outside the restaurant, and the female server came out to advertise the restaurant. He had to tell her that he just left LOL

Review

This satisfied our Japanese cravings.
