We spent 2 weeks in London and had the best culinary time of our trip. One of the pivotal meals of our lives was dining at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay (LINK) but if we’re eating on a budget, here are our other loved places.
Beigel Bake
This is the famous brick lane salt beef beigel with pickles and it was damn delicious 😍😍😍. The bread was soft and chewy because they all came out fresh from the oven. The beef was on the higher end of salty and it paired so well with this juicy, sweet and sour pickle.
It’s so good that this bakery is open 24/7. We were able to go get a midnight snack. Surprsingly, there was a queue of people at midnight but as it turns out, this bakery knows how to pump out the beigels.

Flat iron
Flat Iron is a popular, hip joint where we went to get our delicious steak cravings satisfied for a reasonable price in the British market. The cornish rib-eye was served fresh off the grill and was delicious (LINK).
Homeslice
Have you ever seen such a big pizza? Maybe in the states… but in Australia, this pizza looks huge in comparison to what we have 😯🍕.
Homeslice serves 20-inch pizzas with thin and crispy crusts and toppings of your choice. The restaurant is small, located in the famous Neal’s Yard. Be mindful, the tables were tiny and we had to cut our own pizzas so it can be difficult not to bump into the neighbouring tables.
We ordered the classic margarita for the whole pizza and got mushroom and a cheesy potato bake option 50/50 on the second pizza. All the flavours were delicious, intense and savoury; we were licking our fingers after every slice.

Cakes & Bubbles
Mick and I stumbled upon this place by accident. It was fancy, with chandeliers and butlers, with a very “upper class” vibe 🤣. We stopped for a glass of champagne, a raspberry eclair and this beautiful golden egg flan (LINK).
Sunday Roast
A true British meal is the hearty and delicious Sunday Roast. It’s roasted meat, served with roasted potato, vegetables, gravy and Yorkshire pudding. This was one of the most wholesome meals of our journey (LINK).
It might have something to do with catching up with long time friends, or it being our first official British meal after our 22-hour flight, but biting into our gravy-filled Yorkshire pudding was truly a savoury moment we will cherish forever.

Pret a Manger
Pret A Manger is a chain store with healthy, quick meals, like the 7/11 for Japan. There are heaps of them scattered around London. The food was fairly decent for a £6 to £12 price range.
Burger & Lobster
Ooooooft, £31 per 1.5 lb of lobster? Yes, please 🙋🏻♀️. We loved this place for their affordable and fresh crustaceans so of course, it had to be mentioned twice on this blog (LINK).
Borough Market
Borough Market is a must-see spot in London and a great place to find affordable and delicious foods. Our favourites were the doughnuts, duck wraps and sea urchins 🤤 (LINK).
Brasserie Zedel
Zedel is a French restaurant our friend A took me to. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring our camera but I was blown away by the cheap and delicious dishes. For example, one of the dishes was a beautiful macaroni and cheese for £11. If you’ve ever been to London, you would know how hard it is to find this gem 😂.
Thanks for reading my compilation post. Happy eating! 😘
