We did a day trip to Yokohama today and with Aaron’s guidance, we were able to walk around the entire city in 3 hours. This is our travel diary 😄.
This was Queen’s Square shopping centre where we stopped for a really long time to use the bathroom 😂 We had a lot of pork katsu before we left Tokyo and our stomachs were dyinggggg (LINK).
For some reason, we stopped for a really long time in front of the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse for photos 😂.
We made it to Yokohama Chinatown where we stopped for some xiao long bao (LINK). It was kind of eerie and sad to see how empty the place was. There was barely any tourists and a lot of the stores were suffering. Damn you, Covid.
This first set of xiao long bao was so juicy and soft. Being made by Japanese people meant the quality of the XLB was higher but it lacked a bit of that authentic Chinese taste. Maybe we’re used to the street-food stuff? 🤔🤣
This XLB had different colouring but the flavours were only subtly different. The fillings were juicy and savoury as well. We felt these were a lot better than the previous lot, having a softer dough with crispier bottom and juicier meats 🤤. This was from Wangfujing Honten.
There wasn’t much talking in this travel diary so thanks for looking at our pictures from today. We were exhausted by the time we got back to Tokyo but lucky for our tired legs, we had MariCar booked (LINK).
