Dal Moro’s is a small takeout store on the corner of an alleyway in Venice, Italy. The concept behind this “restaurant” is to serve the freshest pasta with their homemade ready-to-go sauce. They have a few locations internationally, including Barcelona, Toronto and four locations in Canada.
This pasta was so good that we ate there twice during the last two days in Venice. The store is about a square metre in size and had 2 stools. We were lucky to get a seat both times 😄.

At Dal Moro’s, they pride themselves on using the highest quality ingredients. There were five varieties of pasta to choose from: fusilli, spaghetti, gnocchi, bigoli and linguine, and nine delicious sauces: Napoletana, Fattoria, Ai Formaggi, Pesto, Carbonara, Bolognese, Ragù d’Anatra, Nero di Seppia and Frutti di Mare.
Pasta
This bad boy was the Frutti di Mare with linguine pasta and extra chilli flakes. It had tomato sauce, clams, mussels and cuttlefish. The pasta was so soft and tender, and you could literally taste that fresh flour texture in the dough. The sauce was flavourful, sweet and so delicious. The chilli kick added a nice zest to the bite.
This was the classic Bolognese with spaghetti pasta, ground beef and extra parmesan cheese. Holy moly, so creamy and filling. The parmesan had a mild nutty and bitter taste, contrasting the savoury and sweet tomato sauce. I could taste the juices from the ground beef too.
It was honestly so friggin’ delicious that I ordered the exact same thing the next day, whereas Mick experimented with the Nero di Seppia (no photos) of liquid black ink sauce, garlic and squid strips. He said it was delicious but he loves his seafood pasta and will always go back to the Fruitti di Mare.
Service
Moro was there during our second visit and he seemed like a genuinely happy dude. He told us about how he started his business and then he asked us where we were from and once we told him “Sydney, beaches, Bondi Rescue” he started telling us how he wanted to visit Down Under. It was such a cute interaction and we want more business for him 🍝.
Review
Overall, it was such a wonderful find and we would highly recommend this takeout store to our family and friends for those visiting Venice.
