Gram Cafe & Pancakes

Gram is a popular franchise, known for its fluffy pancakes. They were a huge craze back in 2017, with queues going around the block at their original store in Harajuku, Tokyo (LINK).

The reason for their popularity? Exclusivity.

They were selling 20 pancakes in their sessions and they only held three sessions a day. To get a seat, visitors had to queue up at certain times (08:00, 11:30, 14:00) to get a “ticket” so they could come back a few hours later for their actual pancake. We fell for this tourist hype and it was honestly shit. We had to block out an entire day in Japan for a pancake…
The pancake was very wobbly when it arrived at our table. We spent 5 minutes taking photos/videos and it was so fun to poke at it.

The batter was very fluffy and bland. The maple syrup sweetened everything and the ice creamed added a refreshing coldness to the bite. After the first layer, it became sickening to finish so we recommend getting one to share.

Ok, thanks for reading this quick post πŸ˜„ We’ve queued up 3 times for this pancake so we thought we’d add it to our bucket list. Bye.
