Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 2019

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is considered the capital city of South Vietnam. For reference, Hanoi is the official capital of the North and all of Vietnam. When Mick visits Vietnam, he usually stays in HCMC as his family predominantly lives there.

On the other hand, I have never explored HCMC because I usually visit my family in Vinh Long (LINK) and Binh Thuan (LINK). This is my travel diary of the last two days 😄.

Our Adventure

I checked in to Sunland Hotel (LINK).
And then I had a family reunion with my elderly relatives (LINK).
Afterwards, I went out to Bui Vien Street to check out the party scene. There were heaps of bars and restaurant, offering a range of traditional Vietnamese snacks, alcohol and helium balloons 😂.
The next day, I was a little hungover and had a relaxing time in the hotel’s pool.
For lunch, I went to eat my favourite dish, bánh canh cua. This is tapioca noodles in a crab thickened broth, with seafood pieces.
For dinner, my family took me to a seafood restaurant that was designed for drinking.

Last night, I flew out of Ho Chi Minh City, stopped over in Taiwan for 2 hours and then headed for Fukuoka, Japan (LINK).

Thanks for reading! 😄
