Incheon is a city located North-West of South Korea, where the international airport is located. Not many people stop here, as the capital, Seoul, is a 1.5-hour train ride away. I decided to be adventurous and stay a night in this quiet city today to get a more authentic feel of the culture of Korea.
These pictures were taken at 6pm. There was barely anyone out and about. Most people we saw were on their way home from a day of work. It felt oddly empty after seeing the hustle and bustle of Seoul.
We stayed at Buzz Guesthouse, found on Bookings.com for $60AUD. It was a great place for our early flight, with a shared kitchen and lounge room space. The owner, John, was really nice and dragged our heavy 30kg luggage up 2 flight of stairs for us 😲. He even drove us to the airport at 4 AM, because there was no form of public transport before 6 AM.
This was our last chance to get our KBBQ cravings satisfied so we found a cute restaurant along the food street outside Incheon station 🤤.
This was a little stopover for us. I probably would not do this again because, from a tourist perspective, there was not much to do, however, if I was to live in South Korea, I would not mind living in this quiet city, away from the noise. ​
