Leaf Cafe Co

We recently discovered this local cafe in our suburb, serving vibrant and Asian-inspired dishes with their beautifully roasted coffee beans. Located in both Rhodes and across the water in Wentworth Point, this cafe is always packed with people, so get there early. They are also dog friendly, and Pocky loved his puppuccino 🐶.

Food

I loved the presentation of the Occy for $26. It had grilled WA octopus leg, fennel, sun dried tomato, parsley, dill, chorizo, kipfler potato, black aioli, lemon vinaigrette and topped with luxurious Yarra Valley salmon caviar.

There was so many components to this dish, every bite was unique and flavourful. The octopus legs were chewy with a nice charred umami flavour. The tomatoes were sweet, the accented flowers were subtly floral, and the chorizo was smokey. Surprisingly, this dish hit the mark of fulfilling my hunger.
Mick ordered the roasted pork belly and duck rice bowl for $26. It had roasted pork belly, smoked duck breast, broccolini, zucchini, garlic, eschalots, chilli, brown rice, fried egg. He said it was a good, delicious feed. Sweet and simple 😆.

We’ve also tried their chicken fajita wrap for $16, which was really juicy and flavourful. It had grilled marinated chicken, mixed peppers, onion, avocado, lettuce, tomato, melted mozzarella cheese, peri peri mayo.

Review

I can’t believe going out for brunch costs $30-$35 per person now 😭 Damn inflation hurts. But the pain was not too bad when the food was this delish… (we went back to our canned tuna diet after this meal lol). Service and coffee was good.

Thanks for reading. Happy eating!
