Louvre Museum

The Louvre is the largest collection of art and historical pieces in the entire world. It is a must-see attraction when visiting Paris (LINK). They say that if you spend 60 seconds on each artwork and look at the artworks for 8 hours a day, it would take you 75 days to see every piece in this museum 😲 We visited today and had a great time.

Start

Not gonna lie, we got very lost roaming around the Louvre. We forgot to grab a map so we ended up doing circles around the same section 😂. We started our tour in the ancient statue section and miraculously found our way to the Winged Victory of Samothrace, a goddess statue created in the 2nd century BC, an hour later.

Ceilings & Windows

Even the ceilings were laid out with artworks 😍

Egypt

There was a whole section dedicated to Egyptian artwork, pharaohs, tombs and vases. It was a little eerie seeing the preserved mummies.

Mona Lisa

Moving on to the artwork section, we finally found the most famous room of the Louvre, with the most famous known artwork. The Mona Lisa. She was very underwhelming in person… 😅 Since it was winter when we visited, there were no ropes up to direct the crowd. Look at all the selfies.

Gallery

We were reaching our third, maybe fourth, hour and we were starting to feel overwhelmed with the colours we had seen so far. With our stomachs grumbling, we started making our way towards the exit.

We spent another 30 minutes taking photos of the scenery outside the Louvre. Being typical tourists, I’m not afraid to say that we were embarrassing 😅

For the Gram

Since we were staying at Novotel Les Halles (LINK), it was an easy 10-minute walk to the Louvre and we decided to come back 2 days later for some night shots.
Thanks for scrolling through. We louvre you 😉
