Mango Coco Thai Desserts Cafe

We stumbled into Mango Coco Thai Desserts Cafe on a random Saturday, thanks to A and her long list of places to eat. The interior was bright and pleasing to the eye. The staff were very efficient to sit us quickly during a confusing period of Covid restrictions. And the desserts were definitely beautiful and photogenic.

dessert

This gorgeous looking dessert was the combo mango sticky rice for $18. It consisted of mango pudding with coconut ice cream, taro balls, coconut sticky rice, fresh mango and coconut cream sauce. All the fruits were so fresh and sweet.

The sticky rice added the most interesting texture to the creamy dessert. We loved every part of this dish, especially the presentation with the gold glitter and purple viola. Highly recommend and we’ll probably be back for another serving 🥭.
We love bingsu so we ordered the lod chong bingsu for $19. We loved the dry ice theatrics of this beautiful coconut milk shaved ice with coconut palm sugar sauce, pandan pudding and coconut jelly.

I’m not a great fan of pandan but lucky we had A to demolish this dessert. After a while, it did become a little too much to finish and unfortunately, we left behind a few spoonfuls of ice. The jellies were very chewy and squidgy.
We also ordered the durian pancakes but I didn’t take a photo of the menu and I can’t see this on their zomato page so I don’t know the price. But yummmm!

The durian cream was very intense, almost like the real thing, and it was wrapped so well in the thin crepes. There was even sticky rice inside for a bonus textured chew. We loved the attention to details with the gold glitter 😍.

review

We really enjoyed the desserts here and will definitely return one day for the rest of the menu. We didn’t realize they also do savoury dishes.

Thanks for reading. Happy eating! 😁
