Mercure Berlin Tempelhof

Two days ago, I set off on a solo tour with TourRadar to Berlin (tour 102234). In regards to accommodation, I was given a twin double room at Mercure Berlin Tempelhof and luckily, had the place to myself.

There are 3 options, “shared room” (free), “shared same-gender room” ($30AUD), and “single room” ($200AUD). I originally picked “shared same-gender room”, thinking it would not be so bad to meet another female on tour. When I flew into Berlin, I was the only person travelling alone, hence the room to myself πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ.

Disclosure: We want to share our hotel experiences with details and honesty since there is a lot of sponsored/fake content out there. Also, we might re-book a place and this helps us remember where we stayed πŸ˜‚. Our photos were taken on our Sony RX100V and we did not use a wide-angle lens.

Location

The hotel was a 10-minute walk from the nearest station. The Berlin train system was very easy to navigate so getting to the city centre was not an issue. I found it convenient for the price.

Room

Bed: Firm with a slight softness. Ideal for back sleepers.

Cleanliness: On arrival, the place was very tidy. I did not find any stains or mould. They only clean every 3rd day.

Space: There was heaps of room for me to open my suitcase and spread my stuff around. I’m not sure if this would be applicable if there was a second person in the room.
Noise: Minimal

Air-conditioning: It was a little chilly in Berlin and I kept the heater on all night. It made minimal noise.

Technology: TV showed local content. Wi-fi was fast

Bathroom: Lighting was dim. Very small, but not as small as Japan. I had to do my makeup outside on the desk.
Extras: Nothing I can recall.

Amenities: Breakfast was included on the last day. There was a lot of variety. I found the food quite nice, with savoury scrambled egg, crispy bacon and freshly baked bread.
