Notre-Dame de Paris

One of the saddest events to occur in 2019 was the fire of the great Notre Dame of Paris. We were unbelievably lucky to have visited the cathedral a month before this incident, on March 3rd, and attended Sunday mass. Here are our snapshots from our visit.

Outside

Inside

The inside of Notre Dame is spectacular. From the architecture to the sculptures to the glass panels, every cm of this place was grandeur and beauty.
As a non-religious person, I was curious as to why there was such a large gathering in the centre – tourists were allowed to walk around the outskirts of the cathedral – and Mick briefly explained Sunday mass, the story of Jesus and what everything meant. It was an intense hour with my personal tour guide 😂 We did enjoy the French prayers during our visit.

Viewing

Before this visit, we had never seen so much gold in one place. Drip, drip, drip 🎵. This room cost us an extra €10 to view as it showcased the history of the Pope and all the shiny crowns and statues of Christian history.

Sunday Mass

Mick was looking at the gargoyles on the top of the cathedral. We were debating whether or not to buy tickets to go up to the roof however we had a packed Parisian schedule 😣.

Thanks for reading! Au revoir!
