Today was our last day in Rome and we were roaming around looking for a place to eat dinner. At this point in our travels, we were sort of sick of carbs (pasta 🍝/pizza 🍕) and were craving a juicy piece of steak.
We eventually found Osteria Delle Coppelle and chose this restaurant for their menu and reviews – and the fact that they didn’t have an eager waiter nudging us indoors like the other tourist traps made us feel more comfortable 😅

Food
Mick got his wish and ordered a massive tomahawk steak with roasted potatoes, garnished with rosemary. It was well seasoned with a nice charred flavour profile. The meat fell off the bone with minimal cutting. There was nothing extraordinary about the steak – just that it was delicious.
This was a simple roasted potato with oil and rosemary. The potatoes had a starchy texture and were good. You can never go wrong with a side of potatoes.
I stayed on the safer side and ordered a spaghetti bolognese. It was only day no. 4 since my tragic food poisoning so I thought I’d better not rock the boat 😅. This was a soft pasta, with a sweet and savoury tomato sauce. It was yummy for such a simple, classic dish.
Service
The service was good. There was nothing to fault there.
Review
While we were having dinner, the Italian couple next to us made conversation. They were telling us how to eat our pasta, the order in which we should eat Italian cuisine and where to visit next. We kept telling them to visit the land of beaches 😂. We ended our night with a shared bottle of wine and it was so wholesome, I wished we had more of these moments during our Europe trip. Alas, there’s always next time.
Oh, and the restaurant was great too!
Thank you for reading! Ciao Bella.
