Restaurant Maximilians Berlin

Two days ago, after flying in from London, I set out to explore the city alone. It was a little daunting being by myself in a foreign city and country for the first time in my life but I was determined to gain some independence πŸ˜†.

I googled Restaurant Maximilians Berlin and found it was a very cosy, joyous restaurant that accommodated to tourists. And after eating there, I was so glad I did because the staff made me feel less alone. I also thought it was very cute that all the staff were dressed in cute blue-and-white outfits or dirndl.

EntrΓ©e

The pretzel was delicious!! It had a beautifully cooked outer layer, salty exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. Everything balanced well. It was huge and I struggled to finish it.

I had this with my first German beer. The beer was 3.5€ a pint, smooth and tolerable for the non-beer drinker πŸ˜‚

Main Course

My main dish was Geschmorte Rinderrroulade, a braised slice of beef, rolled and stuffed with gherkin, onions and bacon, with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. The beef was very tender and savoury, well flavoured.

The mash was creamy and added a nice balance to the meat. I found the cabbage slightly sour for my liking but when mixed in with the other two components, it was delicious.

review

I wish I could eat a lot. I would have ordered more πŸ₯Ί. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcomed. I can’t wait to visit Berlin again and take Mick here.

Happy eating!
