Robot Restaurant

Robot Restaurant is the most insane live performance in the world; with dragons, robots, lasers, smoke, dancers, more lasers, gold, giant crabs, and more lasers. The restaurant is located in the heart of the red-light district of Tokyo (Shinjuku) and from what we’ve researched and suspected, run by the Yakuza (Japanese mob). Every time I walk past it, there are always tough-looking middle-aged men in suits, like MIB 😂

Tickets are ¥8,000 (~$110 AUD because our dollar is shit).

I took these photos last week but from what I recorded in our 2017 YouTube video, the inside and stage was like a hardstyle rave.
Let me describe how crazy the inside was.

After they scanned our tickets, we were led down 3 to 4 narrow stairs that were lined with mirrors and LED lights from ceiling to floor. Next was the waiting lounge and it was decked out in mirrors, gold, jewels and velvet couches, with a live performance and bar. It felt surreal being there.
It was about 30 minutes before they started directing people to their seats along with two narrow benchers. Some American tourists were buying “I love RR” t-shirts before the show even started 😂 (What if it was not good?).

Finally, the 90-minute show started with smoke, lasers, live performances and loud music. It was such a random and wild show. Seriously, watch the video 😂

Would we do it again? Nope! The Robot Restaurant is definitely a one time experience. We still recommend it to our first-time-Japan-travellers but we do put it out there the price vs value of the experience.

Hope you enjoy the short read. Thanks for reading!
