Today we waited an hour in line to enter the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill in Rome. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had just finished seeing the Colosseum (LINK).
The entrance ticket to this place was included in our Roma pass so we felt obliged to queue for a long time in the sun because we wanted to make our money’s worth. Here are some snapshots from today.

This was the Arch of Constantine, just outside of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. This arc was built in the year 315, almost 1700 years ago! The details in the carvings and the height of the arc were impressive, considering the tools they had back then. This arc was nowhere near as huge as the Arc de Triomphe in Paris though (LINK).
Some of these forums were magnificent in person. There was a lot of details carved into the stones at tall heights and it made us wonder how the Romans achieved this with their limited tools and technology.
